This goose has found herself a small kingdom made entirely of sweets — two giant swirled lollipops standing in for trees, striped candy dangling on strings above her, everything bathed in warm, sugary orange light.
Bundled in a striped scarf with a spotted quilt draped over one wing, she looks completely at home among the treats, unhurried and in absolutely no rush to leave.
Painted in bright, playful watercolour with a lot of charm packed into the hanging candies and the stripes of her makeshift shelter, it is a cheerful, slightly dreamlike piece — sweet without tipping into saccharine.
